The program aims to reformulate professional internships, recover programs, and develop training.

In the document delivered on April 10 by the new Government of Luís Montenegro, which aims to support young people by ensuring them access to housing with 100% financing and exemption from associated taxes, emphasis is also placed on work.

In this field, for young people, the document points out the measure of "reformulating the eligibility criteria for supported professional internships", in order to strengthen "the link with the direct employability of young people by companies and the levels of scholarships practiced, and also improve the regulation of unsupported internships, in order to prevent abuses".

In addition, the program presented foresees the recovery of the Young Technicians for Industry (JTI) program, to develop "with the support of Sector Technological Centers incentive programs for the integration of our young graduates, in the scientific, technological and management areas, in Portuguese companies".

In addition to JTI, the Youth PhDs for Industry (JDI) program will also be introduced, with the support of National Business Associations, aiming at "integrating our young PhDs in scientific, technological, and management areas into Portuguese companies," in order to replace the current research grant system.

Within work and education, the document also mentions the measure of developing "training, qualification, and certification programs for intermediate technical staff", as well as working with professional orders and representative associations in the "retention of youth" in the country.

In the same line, the document highlights the " promotion of mental health", acknowledging it as currently "one of the greatest concerns of Portuguese young people".
